Be Outstanding

Greetings,

A week has passed since my last update and I have been beating myself up (mentally) for not following through on my commitment to do at least three blogs during the week. Oh, I have had the usual excuses of being too busy, too tired and at a loss for material.

A few moments reflection lead me to the conclusion that excuses are easy, excuses will not build my business, the only way to play this game is to be outstanding.

Tony Robbins has had a major impact on my thinking and the way I now approach life and in his “Time of Your Life” life management product he says that life is wired as follows:

  • If you do a poor job you get no rewards
  • If you do a good job you get poor rewards
  • If you do an excellent job you get good rewards
  • If you do an outstanding job you get ALL the rewards

Therefore, in doing the bare minimum you can expect little or nothing for your efforts. Outstanding is a quarter inch above excellence but the rewards are disproportionately greater. It’s unfair, but it’s the way life is wired. Outstanding is when you stand out from the crowd and isĀ  how you need to play to be successful.

If you want to be successful, find someone who has achieved the results you want and model what they do to achieve the same results.
